2006 Student Satisfaction Survey
Just How Satisfied Are Our Students?

In November we sent an email survey to our 2006 students asking for their level of
satisfaction on our classes and workshops. Thirty percent responded. Here are the results:

"I started because I wanted to see what I was missing. Excellent instruction kept me
coming back."
  • Nearly 59% were repeat students who had completed many class series with us.

"I had wanted to learn swing for the longest time. You were recommended
by someone in the dance community."
  • 40% came to us through word of mouth/referrals

"I like the students and the casual atmosphere as well as the break down of dance
patterns
into small, easy-to-follow-and-learn pieces."
  • 92% report they enjoy the classes

"I am so happy with the classes. I am learning so much and really enjoying the
experience.
Dance is so much fun!
  • 87% report they learned a lot they didn't know

"I had a great time and have been able to be a better partner as a result of the classes."

PLANS FOR IMPROVEMENT

69% were HIGHLY SATISFIED,
our goal is to move the 31% SATISFIED into being HIGHLY SATISFIED

WE WILL PROVIDE MORE OPPORTUNITIES TO DANCE: The lowest score (31%)
went to our students making the time to practice what they learn. We can't make you make
the time, but we can start providing more opportunities. So in 2007 we will be offering a
dance once a month and incorporating more time to integrate the moves into our "body
memory" during class time.

WE WILL MOVE THE TECHNIQUE CLINIC FROM SATURDAY MORNINGS TO
RIGHT BEFORE OUR MONTHLY DANCE. A number of responses indicated difficulty
attending the Technique Clinic because of time and money issues. So in 2007 we will be
offering the Technique Clinic for Experienced Dancers from 6:00-7:30pm on Saturdays
right before our monthly dance. So you can make one trip, learn something new and apply
it that night!

WE WILL EXPAND THE LEARN TO DANCE IN A DAY SERIES TO INCLUDE
BEGINNER AND ADVANCED SESSIONS. These Saturday workshops proved so popular
that we now have enough students ready for more advanced moves. So in 2007 we will
offer Part 1 from 10:30-12:00 and Part 11 from 12:00-1:30. Students can do either or both!

A MESSAGE TO LEADERS
HOW YOU CAN HELP

"SOMETIMES THERE AREN'T ENOUGH LEADS IN THE ADVANCED CLASSES,
BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW YOU CAN REMEDY THAT."

Neither do we. Leading is challenging and we have many leaders in our foundations class
who like to stay there until they are very comfortable. This leaves a shortage of leads in our
more advanced classes. If you are a leader, secure with the basics, why lose the
