FAQs

What is your bad weather policy (snow storms, ice, etc)?

We closely follow the weather and always put safety first and will make decisions by 3pm in the event of bad weather, earlier if it is obvious. Always check the website before venturing out.

CLASSES: Classes will take place over Zoom in lieu of cancellation. We have plenty of practice teaching over Zoom so everyone benefits regardless of whether students have a partner at home. Students will also receive a class recording for practice as an added benefit. Registered students will be notified by email and text, and will receive a link via email.

DANCES: All registered attendees for dances will receive an email notification of cancellations. This, among many, is one of the reasons we highly recommend you register for dances, as well as classes and workshops. If we know you are expecting to come, we will make sure you know there is a cancellation. Therefore, always register your intention and you will always be kept informed. A general email notification will also be sent out to our mailing list, so be sure you are on our list and receiving our notices.

Our website calendar will also be updated to indicate any cancellations, as will Facebook. We cannot retract all the social media promotions prior to the event so make sure you are looking at the latest information and check our website.

If you don’t receive a notification and don’t see any cancellation indicated on the website, you can assume the event is on. Since everyone is coming from everywhere, please bear in mind that we make our decisions based on weather in and around Ulster County, where our events are held. While safety is our highest priority, we do live in the north, and unthreatening weather events will be treated as such.

As a rule, register for anything you intend to attend and you will be in the know about everything relating to that event. And you will also make the organizer’s job much easier for planning and decision-making purposes.
