What is the difference between East Coast Swing/Lindy Hop and West Coast Swing?

Lindy Hop is the grandfather dance of so many other styles like West Coast Swing, DC Hand Dancing, Country Swing, Cajun Jitterbug, Shag and even the Hustle. If you learn Lindy Hop you can usually easily adjust to any of these other variants, which changed shape and form to suit the music they are danced to. Lindy hop is done to swing music (or music that swings!) such as Count Basie or contemporary swing bands such as Gordon Webster, and retains its feeling of being the home of “Happy Feet” as the Savoy was known. It’s also hard not to smile when you swing dance!
