Swing into midsummer with an evening of dancing and live music in this jaw-dropping historic performance hall featuring a dancer’s dream of 4,000 square feet of beautiful wood floor and acoustics worthy of an old opera house!

Start with a beginner-friendly Lindy Hop lesson led by Chester and Linda of Got2Lindy Dance Studios before taking to the floor with live music by Eight to the Bar. The evening also includes a performance by The Got2Lindy Hoppers.

Lindy Hop began at the Savoy Ballroom in Harlem, where dancers of all backgrounds filled the massive dance floor. That history continues to shape how the dance is practiced and shared today. Got2Lindy Dance Studios and Hudson Hall are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone.

(Free) Swing Dance in the Park with Saints of Swing!

Swing into Fall with this free outdoor dance party at the Field of Dreams Pavilion in New Paltz with the Saints of Swing. No partner or experience needed. Beginner lesson with Got2Lindy kicks off the evening. This is a covered pavilion so the dance is rain or shine! Sponsored by the Town of New Paltz Recreation Department.

It’s a party! Bring goodies to share and your dancing feet as we swing into the new year!

The Swing Shift Orchestra is a real big band at its best!! Join us as we dance to this authentic 16-piece big band playing classic swing tunes that will make you want to dance…even if you don’t know how! Beginner lesson included.

All are welcome! No partner or experience needed to attend.  Join the fun!

Swing Dance w/the Swing Shift Orchestra and 20th Anniversary Celebration with Special Guest Judy Pritchett!

Got2Lindy has been fostering fun, footwork and friendships since 2004! Celebrate with us as we celebrate you and our students who have been with us one year or many, many more!! We couldn’t have done this without you!! We’ve even had a few marriages and babies grow out of our classes!!

We invited our big band fav the Swing Shift Orchestra, a great big band and long-time friend of Got2Lindy, and our friend, Judy Pritchett, Frankie Manning’s long-time partner, because we couldn’t have done this without him, either!

Frankie Manning was a leading dancer at Harlem’s legendary Savoy Ballroom where, in the mid-1930s, he revolutionized the course of the lindy hop with his innovations, including the lindy air step and synchronized ensemble lindy routine.

As a featured dancer and chief choreographer for the spectacular Whitey’s Lindy Hoppers, he performed in numerous films (including Hellzapoppin’), and entertained on stages around the world with jazz greats Ethel Waters, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, and Cab Calloway.

Frankie Manning was one of our teachers and we brought him to the Hudson Valley to teach a weekend workshop in 2006. He is known as “The Ambassador of Lindy Hop” and Linda edited his book of the same name (Temple University Press, 2007).
